Serving both public agency and multi-national business in North America, Peter has been a digital systems filing consultant since 1995.
“It started when I was leading an Accounts Payable automation project for Microsoft. The customer requested someone to perform a 600-box document scanning service as a sub-part of the main integration automation project. A key requirement was re-organizing the records before scanning, followed by extensive hand-key data entry. My employer at the time saw this as valuable, but was unable to cover the expense and frankly, wanted to avoid the responsibility. I was encouraged to establish a separate company and project manage this as a sub-part of the main automation project. And so the company began, nights and weekends at our children’s study desks.”
Others customers began asking for similar services to support of their document management systems. By 2001, there were 22 part-time employees in the company.
The years 2006 and 2008 saw the acquisition of 2-larger, more established firms from Redmond and Bellevue. Initially operated as 3-separate business units, these were co-located together into one operation in the Lynnwood corporate center in 2012.
Since 1999, FreeDoc® has added Information Consulting and Information Automation in the Cloud. This approach allows one entity to Project Manage both halves of an information automation project, with an eye for compliance and efficiency. This one concept has been the formula for most successful customer automation projects ever performed in the company’s history.

Matt Frix grew up in the business as it grew around him. His orientation was came by first hand experience through middle, high school and university. Following completion of US military services in 2016 Matt joined FreeDoc® as Operations Manager. He was promoted to Director of Operations in 2019, and was named Director of Information Technology in 2022.
Matt oversees all aspects of FreeDoc® Services, Production, Support, and improvement of internal operations. He has direct oversight of FreeDoc® Professional Services, System development and Document conversion. He ensures our performance matches your expectation to achieve operational results.
